"miyazaki is probably so upset" you are completely missing the point, of course none of us are aiming to create something that evokes even a sliver of the emotions that Ghibli movies do this is essentially fan art, accessible to everyone in seconds

I think, unfortunately, Pandora's Box has already been opened when it comes to AI and copyright, artists getting compensation, etc.. I also agree with this take(https://x.com/the_carlosdp/status/1905069793176096942) : fan art has existed forever, people have created derivatives of others' work forever (see Dreamworks copying Pixar), and ultimately great art wins. There's also a big difference between Art and images. It's not clear to me that this is necessarily "positive sum" for Ghibli (although it is crazy good advertising), but I don't see how it would hurt them?
