I’ve been seeing a lot of fashion people talk about how microtrends are losing steam—how they move too fast, favor the chronically online, and result in exaggerated styles that only influencers actually wear. It got me thinking about how I’ve always tried to avoid trends in my own fashion journey. But what really caught my attention is how this reminds me of memecoins—short-lived, hype-driven, and often disconnected from real-world utility. Maybe the lesson here is the same: whether in fashion or markets, it’s better to invest in what genuinely resonates with you rather than chasing the latest wave. Interestingly, people on Reels were saying that “IRL” is the new trend—not just in fashion but in home decor and beyond. More authenticity, less manufactured aesthetic. Maybe we’re reaching a point where the pendulum swings back to what actually feels *real*?
