Is prompt engineering worth learning? I usually just talk to Claude. I guess being a programmer helps my prompts be descriptive and “logical”. I’ve never felt the need but might be missing out. If so, would love some recs on resources.

Thanks! I do notice that the generative art Ive tried sucks lol I just use the same prompting approach as with other stuff.

It used to be but much less so now. Modern CoT-type models like o1 or DeepSeek-R1 will essentially prompt-engineer themselves as part of their internal "thinking" process. Claude & al have gotten good at giving good answers even with a basic prompt.

May still be useful for generative art models, not sure about those.
