I agree in general but would like to think the crooks and grifters are a loud and powerful minority. This is why crypto is special to me and why I agree with your first statement on the current administrations actions being a cleansing light.  Its also why I dislike corpochains like base. We have strayed too far from cyper/cypherpunk ideals.

Tech can be used to improve the world, of course but it’s a cause undertaken by the few, and the poor, for all the money is in stuff like scamming retail and forcing people to remove ads from the front of a Kindle.
