maybe dumb question but do men ever think about freezing their sperm? like do men think about fertility? even if sperm can regenerate (eggs can't) sperm quality similarly declines with age. freezing eggs can cost $30k+ (process + storage), but freezing sperm is maybe $500 total — and nowhere near as invasive.

Nope. Never had a conversation with basically anyone about kids, fertility, or even family planning really. There’s no zeitgeist about worrying about having kids at all (at least as an American male) and tbh I was shocked when i found out how much women have to think through that.

Yeah, my women friends that don't want to have children often get quietly denigrated by friends, family, even their own doctor that "you're being selfish" (it's one of Chelsea Handler's main talking points). Some of us builders just don't want to build humans! don't make us feel guilty about it

then again, I was made to feel guilty about wanting a vasectomy in my 30s, and the doctor talked me out of it... then in my 40s I was like: shut up and do it! Some people still ask "but you don't want children" and now I can very confidently and happily say "NO". takes a while to learn how to push back on society

Now this is nuts. Haven’t had to deal too much with this but emphatically fuck them.
