Lots of people on the other site are mocking this tweet, but I feel like there's a specific sense in which it's true. American products, music, entertainment etc are still super pervasive worldwide, but what there's less caring about is US *real-time discourse*. Eg. very little discussion of Biden vs Trump in non-US

It is still interesting to me the foothold that "USA" has f.e. in Austria. A lot of times I am seeing USA branding on different food items, and generally young people prefer the "USA" experience (as in restaurants and such) (Image attached is found in Austrian supermarkets, and is completely Austrian made)

By that measure Italy is a world power stronger than the US, go to any shop in the middle of nowhere and they will have Italian food.
