Is Solana an example of a monolithic blockchain? If so, do you think it's going to face these problems when scaling?

Yes, and I think even Solana fans will accept they will implement this new tech eventually

I believe they already think they will implement this new tech eventually but then just have the best of both worlds. The remaining missing piece is resistance for the worst-case scenarios.
