short term, probably best to play the engagement game, since there is no "economy" in web3 where writing is valued Long term tho we need to build mechanisms that sustainably reward those who create value for the community (fwiw, that's what I'm focused on)

my thing is, someone literally wrote the bitcoin white paper, which started all of this so writing certainly has economic value in crypto it’s about extracting value for creators

how much did Satoshi make from the paper itself tho? Probably nothing since its in the public domain. All the money came mining Bitcoin.. now what if Satoshi just wrote the paper but someone else built the protocol (and mined it)? Then he'd(?) make no money at all I agree that ideas, discoveries, etc *should* have value in the economy - but they currently don't bc they don't have exchange value. If we want people to be rewarded for things that have consensus value (but not exchange value) we need to built that mechanism

that’s a question neither of us can answer but I’m sure he extracted some value out of it… but that’s besides the point and I agree we need to create that mechanism
