I think the most realistic path is to monetize something other than the writing Build an audience with writing, then add sponsors, a paid community, or other products that serve the audience you've created Unless you've really established a niche and deliver consistent value, a subscription isn't going to work

short term, probably best to play the engagement game, since there is no "economy" in web3 where writing is valued Long term tho we need to build mechanisms that sustainably reward those who create value for the community (fwiw, that's what I'm focused on)
