So much respect to Hardhat for being early innovators… but the developer experience truly dreadful after using Foundry for so long There’s just something about how it overrides everything in very unintuitive ways, general JavaScript mayhem, plus mapping all of it onto Solidity. RIP

I’ve had no complaints whatsoever with Hardhat. But I also have never used Foundry. I was slow to move from Truffle to Hardhat and I’m sure I’ll be slow to move from Hardhat to anything else.

You should really try Foundry for smart contract testing. It’s very fast to get going and feels much more natural as you test in the same language you’re writing in. Documentation is quite good.

I’ve actually been curious about that. Shouldn’t you want to test in the language that interacts with your smart contract more than you’d want to test in the language you write it in?
