Saturday ship day. 🚢 I made two updates. 1. Cut the amount of $FIRE needed to revive your fire in half. It was getting too expensive compared to our current rewards. 2. nerfed the cheap lumber camp strategy. now lumber camp costs max of # huts * 2 or 50% of your score. More to come next week. Keep stoking! 🔥

Is the plan to just nerf any strategy that breaks up the current monotony of the game, since there haven’t been any mechanic changes in a while, while also applying patches only after some players have already benefited?

I was too slow to nerf this. strategy is to nerf things that don't make sense. Different strategies are good but if it breaks a fair game and doens't make sense with reality then I will likely nerf. Hope to add more new mechanics soon.

But how is it unfair if anyone had the opportunity to figure it out and use it? Is your vision of fair a system where, even if you play optimally, you can never surpass earlier players who also play optimally—unless they quit? I also don’t think raiding is a good equalizer, since over time, defender win rates should naturally trend toward 50% for everyone. Also, what do you mean by "make sense"? Can you clarify? If you're referring to the fire concept, I don’t see how it makes sense for camps to increase when they functionally remain the same and still hold the same number of villagers.

I guess it's fair that anyone could have done it but its unfair in that its' too powerful I think. and the goal is that lumber camps are something a village needs to continually build. see what you mean about make sense. I agree it doesn't make sense from a natural sense that lumber camps or huts would get more expensive over time. we use to have this with huts where they were the same price. Problem with this is that it allows villages to grow exponentially and a huge disadvantage to new villages when it comes to reward splits. so thats why the costs grow. But I don't think it makes sense for some one to try to kill off their villagers. thats kind of the opposite of the goal. so villages should not be rewarded for doing that.
