What practices do you guys put in place to protect your time? Sometimes time just slips away, would be great to hear any ideas!

A lot of the times I’d like to think time isn’t real. However, i realize that in this world we have to play pretend. To help with that, I try to plan things out weekly like going out with friends or a weekly yoga class :)

It’s all about rituals and routines. As a guy who used to loathe routine, I’ve come to find that having one is meditative and allows me to be more focused and creative during the time I carve out. For me that includes: waking at 6, feeding the cats, making my bed, making tea and playing the NYT games, mindful meditation for ten minutes, and 30 minutes at the coffee shop before I sit down for work back home. Then I shut down every evening at 6, cook dinner, read and write, then bed.

Journal about what I do every day, then pay attention to activities that feel like “time slipping away,” then remove them from my life.

Ensure that you allocate quality time for your loved ones. Additionally, prepare your agenda in advance and avoid distractions during your designated working hours, typically lasting two hours.

Routine and soo much discipline. It all goes out the window if you aren't disciplined. But also, remembering the long term/ intention behind the routine and planning.
