Since today's meta is sharing Farcaster invite stories, here's some tough love for consumer founders: you're probably not schlepping enough. If you strategy to get more users is to open your code editor, you're avoiding the actual hard thing of talking to users and then having them silently reject you after a few days. The first version of our Farcaster app didn't work on mobile and didn't have follows, at replies, native image uploads, etc. Go talk to potential users. A lot. https://paulgraham.com/schlep.html

I used to work on consumer too, and I remember when we only had 5000 users for our b2c edtech product. We were really struggling, so me and the three other cofounders split up each day and called every single user (around 50 calls a day per person) for feedback, then we would compare notes at the end of the day. We were young and I remember using my cofounders' mom's home phone because his mom had unlimited calling while my cell at the time didn't. at the end of the month we figured out what we needed to build and got into yc. ended up failing later but i will always remember what it took to work thru the schlep
