I wish cryptography was as important to Americans as guns. The founders would have added the right to encryption to the Bill of Rights if they did this in the 21st century.

Since all past transactions are on chain, if a crypto private key is compromised the security guarantees of double ratchet aren't very useful as assets can still be drained.

Does a practical application of this involve multiple devices with rotating keys "owning" all the traditional weak-cryptography structures like seed phrase based wallets?
