Since all past transactions are on chain, if a crypto private key is compromised the security guarantees of double ratchet aren't very useful as assets can still be drained.

if we are using 1time keys tho, doesn't matter. the metaphor or the literal analogy here still applies imo. we do not rotate signers or passwords in webThree. Signal does. That is security.
