Hello everyone!

I am Fer, Brazilian-born, living in Miami with my 10 y/o son.

I have been an artist for about 25 years, and most people know me for my heavy impasto oil paintings. However, I consider myself a multidisciplinary artist who is always exploring mediums and opportunities to innovate and grow in my creative path.

Most people don’t know, but my formal education is in Marketing and Advertising. I started working very young and was very driven in my corporate career, but life had other plans. I married an Australian, and we moved to the USA for his work, so I dropped my career and went to art school in NYC.

Here are some photos of that period (2000-2003).
The old man was my art teacher at the Art Students League.
I used to have punk red hair 😅
That period was filled with exhibitions. I had two solo shows in Hoboken, NJ, and a few group shows in Manhattan.

Sometime around 2003, another opportunity came, and we moved to London. We traveled a lot, and I explored my artistic journey with much experimentation. I won awards and had exhibitions worldwide. Eventually, we broke up, and I moved back to Brazil around 2006.

During that period, I was lost and did a lot of soul-searching. I lived in a Buddhist temple for a few years (lived as a resident artist painting traditional Tibetan murals) and dedicated another few to a meditation school. I was brainwashed by a cult, but eventually, I realized it and left. I became a muralist painter to make a living, and after a while, I moved to the mountains to live in isolation.
