I think the best way to deal with this is step by step, one problem solved at a time, I wonder if the team has had insight on how other social networks work, their algorithms and so on, it may help but at the same time no other social network is as open as farcaster, so many difficult problems, will think on this

I think Reddit has about 20 years of historical data demonstrating that down-voting leads to toxic behavior. I doubt it's the right approach to dealing with spam. It's also easily gameable.
