Users with priority mode turned on, like priority mode. Users without the power badge, don’t like priority mode and want more visibility to users with priority mode turned on. Making power badge more permissive, increases spam. Makes everyone unhappy (except the spammers) Solve for X.

Power badge has flaws, but haven't seen a concrete proposal for a deterministic alternative to the power badge. Most suggestions for improvement are: "sounds like a hard problem, but whatever system you put in place should give me the power badge." :)

Just remove priority mode, it is not difficult to mute spammers. Since I got my power badge I’ve had many more people engage with me in replies and I can only equate that to them having priority mode on and not seeing my comment. Before a power badge I felt like I had no voice. Warpcast will never scale this way.

I have a power badge but don't want priority mode. Also, if non-power badge users want "everyone", shouldn't the default setting be "everyone" Since general users are more numerous, the default settings should be more user-friendly for them. How about if new users are given a power badge trial period and lose it if they don’t meet a minimal quality? My main concern is that it is hard for me to invite friends in if they are literally going to be not seen in the beginning. This might also encourage and reward early effort, reduce churn

Increase the percentage of users who are allowed to earn badges. Isn't it like 5% of DAU? Could we try 10% maybe?

how about everyone gets to set their own paradigm for what a power badge is power badges are then applied to an individuals app alone (eg im not a power badges on your feed but I am on someone else’s) overtime ppl can fine tune the power badge to see the content they want everyone is happy accept the spammers

1. Show # of message requests / interactions from non-power users, since I forget to check non-priority filter. Don't do push notif. See Twitter's inbox screenshot 2. Segment non-power users into new/up-and-coming users vs. chronic spammers. Filter out chronic spammers for banner/badge above

Let people have a ‘priority reply’ option where so can get their responses into the priority section by paying some warps. The amount of warps can be experimented upon. This gives a clear path for new users to acquire a power badge through the ability to get their posts some visibility. Sort of a boost.

is there a "social graph threshold" for users to show up in priority? i.e. number of people you follow that need to follow them before they show up? 99% of my non-priority replies are spammers (aka it's working), but on the off chance there is a genuine reply there, they usually have >5 of my friends following them.

To be honest I like the power badge. I agree it has its flaw, but I would rather have a power badge that has flaws (but hopefully continues to improve in future) than not have it at all. I turned it off today on my priv acc and the Nova DAO brand acc and its bad.
