I've debated posting this, but I think it's important to share and help others avoid similar mistakes🧵⬇️ 1-During a Solana hackathon, I hired designer @jorges and paid him upfront 300 USDC without any work done: https://basescan.org/tx/0x321840eb7fd893fc74a988ca70ef9b711374f37c3890510fa893f3668ca19d92

2- He never completed the job and constantly made excuses about being sick. Faced with a deadline, I asked him to return the money and stopped working on this project. He then promised to return the money within a month but never did. It's been three months now 😅 !

3- Here's what I learned: Verify Credentials and PoW: Always ask for a portfolio. Seek Recommendations: Ask trusted friends if a person is credible before committing. Avoid Paying Upfront: Only pay upfront if you really trust them. Negotiate payment terms, such as half now and half upon completion.

That’s pretty shitty, scammers are all around here, it’s pretty sad that we trust people with any amount of money and they disappoint us, we HAVE to make things public , thanks for sharing Ina
