One other thing that worries me is how a lot of recent SV tech rhetoric is much more nationalist than before. Ensuring "we" win the global competition. People being tribal is inevitable and can sometimes be channeled toward good, but it's not the sort of thing you want from a global technological vanguard community. I much prefer the old SV that idealistically identified itself with the progress of all of humanity. One reason I really appreciate crypto is that I think it still has that spirit.

Obsidian has completed a second independent audit by the security firm Cure53. The report finds that incremental updates since Obsidian 1.5.3 maintained the highest degree of attention to security, and that no new vulnerabilities were introduced. https://obsidian.md/blog/cure53-second-client-audit/ Particular emphasis was placed on hardening the Web viewer plugin during its development process, to ensure it would pass our strict security standards. We're proud to report that the Cure53 team reviewed the resolutions and concluded that their recommendations have been properly followed. We make Obsidian so we can capture our own private thoughts and ideas. Independent audits help us ensure that our code and procedures meet the highest security standards. We will continue working with industry-leading security firms to provide comprehensive coverage and transparency towards this commitment.

the #1 thing that @solana has right now over @ethereum is people with money who are willing to deploy in a risk forward way at the edge and thereby push forward innovation. this is how innovation happens — but it's often messy in a way that can turn folks off (eg it's "just speculation"). but the lack of this means less capital bandwidth for ideas and experiments to both get funding and to break through into virality via price. memes and the innovation downstream of them are a prime example of this. if @ethereum wants to succeed, this needs to change — and we are seeing signs of it on @base, but it's still early and we need a lot more help. so let this be a call to action: if you are someone who believes in Ethereum, holds significant amounts of ETH, and wants the economy to grow, now is the time to step up.. if this is you, please DM or shoot me an email at [email protected]. will be coming up with a plan in the new year. 🙏🏼
