As a multidisciplinary artists I utilize various media to create work including AI. Being also a photographer I know however that there is always an intention behind capturing the world around you. With the camera this can either mean documenting real life, expressing emotions with different types of photography techniques like slow shutter, emphasizing the play of light and shadow or whatever it may be. If I were to compare Night Sky photography to an AI generation of the same subject, I will always value the real photograph above the AI for several reasons: The skill and knowledge to capture a sharp, well lit image, the manual post production, the intention and energy spent to look for the location, and finally the spiritual connection with the environment, which always translates into the final photo. This applies to other genres of photography as well, especially portraits ~ which are very personal and require trust and often times a certain relationship to the subject.
