gm, i've read 53 books in 2023 so far, will probably crush my record for number of books read in a year (i think it was ~50?) — aiming at 100 books this year

i've been reading 20-50 books over the last 4 years consistently, trying to get to 1000 books in 20 years

a lot, it's actually not that difficult to remember stuff from the books!

my way to do so is to:
1. consume a book
2. read a couple of summaries
3. write my own summary (yabc.bdut.ch)

as simple as that!

I write summaries + use Readwise to make flashcards that I review (mostly) every day on quotes I found particularly memorable/important/profound.

writing your own summary makes a lot of sense

100%. i also like to write something short about my understanding of the topic and the book before reading :)
