On the design of cameras: (1/2) This post made me think about the design of photo cameras. It's true that Leica cameras in particular have a retro feel. But why do cameras look the way they do? On the one hand, it is true that the design of the (Leica) camera dates back to the days of analog photography and many settings were made manually back then. But you also have to bear in mind that for many, especially professional photographers, the camera is purely a tool and not a design object, the motto here is that form follows function. Settings such as exposure time or aperture must be able to be adjusted within fractions of a second. Physical dials are unbeatable for this.

held the m11-p yesterday for the first time and shot a few pictures with it itβs about the shooting experience man, god i love the rangefinder experience i shoot with a x100F camera and yea i can see why lecia costs what it costs
