There's an unbelievably massive divergence in vibes between my IRL friends and my terminally-online crypto friends Most of my IRL frens lean liberal and are acting like the world is imploding... they're psychologically rekt, scared and angry Meanwhile, crypto frens feel free at last and are utterly captivated by what's happening in tech, space, AI, etc. Honestly, never felt so bipolar/started questioning my own sanity so deeply But under all the political strife, the economic weirdness, and the bizarre philosophical questions that AI is forcing us to confront lies one simple fact: technological change continues to accelerate The battle is no longer left vs. right... this generation's war = technologists vs humanists/luddites

sounds like you just need some new frens. jk 🤪 really though why would they be so pessimistic and think the world is ending? if anything it feels like the exact opposite and that people are becoming more sensible and being lifted out of the fog that they’ve been in for a while 🤷🏻♂️

I think a big driver is economic... many are already financially strapped and worried about losing their jobs (either bc they work for the govt or as a govt contractor; or they know their jobs could get eaten by AI). Also, women and minorities feel like they're actively losing rights
