FHE libraries seem really primitive still, like ZK a few years ago. Is anyone working on a VM or compiler for general code? Frameworks that Iβve seen only allow arithmetic and donβt abstract away bootstrapping.

Iβm working on a general intermediary language for ZK, MPC, and (theoretically) FHE, but FHE is far too slow still for general practical use.

Cool! Yeah FHE is slow but it seems like the bigger barrier is ease of use for non-cryptographers. A year ago ZK was pretty inaccessible because you had to write Circom at best. But now with the zkVMs itβs trivial to run arbitrary rust code.

Writing circuits in Noir is actually quite nice, but that ecosystem is still new.
