Loosely held belief: All negativity and aggression in the world (from acts of war to mean tweets) comes from insecurity (lack of confidence in one’s own abilities or lack of stable source of food/shelter). Thoughts?

On a personal scale I think yes, but a skeptical it remains as such on a large scale. There’s game theory dynamics at play. The mongols had an incentive structure where they had no choice but to keep conquering in order to fulfill all the obligations. Once you start that it’s hard for anyone to stop it
