There usually is a discourse between whether to use a toothbrush for the tongue while brushing or a tongue scraper tho..

In a pinch I’d use a tooth brush.

But nothing beats a thick metal tongue scraper

I haven’t hearing “metal” rubs me off wrong
Like it could get me injured 
Just hearing plastic feels more like a safe bet

Yes, and metal any day of the week.

With the metal one you need a lot less pressure. I’ve used one for almost everyday of my life, never once had a tongue related injury

I have that exact one. My favorite is a thick copper one (antibacterial).

I promise, you won’t cut yourself

And it they are always exactly like the pic you posted?

The pic looks like the part for scraping could actually injure my tongue cus it looks quite slim.. at least the plastic one was made with a shape similar to a tongue or something
