In some way this is like comparing industrial ag to a farmers market stall. 

There are so few industrial workers in America compared to say, China. And There these people are embedded in a system designed for productivity, while American industry has been hollowed out 

when we outsourced manufacturing we didn’t just send the jobs overseas but the very idea of industrial labor as a legitimate life path
