Loving NYC but got two major complaints so far: - Why don't you people compost?! It's 2023! 😥 - How's Fage the best yogurt you got?? 🤯 Am I not looking in the right places?

Astoria in Queens composts and has been doing community driven composting for nearly a decade(?) before the city finally listened. City composting bins rolled out this past year Amazing fresh Greek and Albanian yogurt in Astoria too. Probably not worth the trek for a short stay but amazing food and good prices.

from where did you move recently? sorry, but you sound like the kind of recently arrived New Yorker who considers Manhattan to be NYC. https://citylimits.org/2023/06/08/nyc-makes-it-mandatory-for-residential-buildings-to-recycle-food-waste/ for now, bring compost to farmer's markets, community gardens, and smart bins
