I've been up to my eyeballs in React and I feel like I am being made to work harder than I would have to in other frameworks and moreover the only reason all of this is so popular is that because massive incomes are tied to it. I don't respect this.

What are you building? I’m not a frontend dev by any stretch and the only frameworks that immediately clicked for me were Svelte and Astro (haven’t tried much Vue and Solid but hear those are good too).

Reason being is they’re as close to vanilla HTML/CSS/JS you can get which I like. Happy to help if needed.
