recently learned that the original tomoe river paper was discontinued a few years ago (some sellers still have old stock) because of declining demand that Tomoegawa couldn't manage

Sanzen Paper bought the rights for ~$2M and are now producing it with a new machine, though people have said the new paper isn't as smooth as before

i managed to get a notebook with the original paper ytd!!

so i wanted to know for sure and not just trust reddit

the sanzen paper (left) really isn’t as good as the OG tomoe river paper (right)

as much as i appreciate them keeping it alive, they can’t keep claiming it’s “just as good”
