channels as standalone apps will likely make a lot of sense as the network scales - features built unique to that community ownership + portability to other apps/communities still at the forefront

Disagree, people don’t like to install new apps, they prefer apps that can do more (but not super apps, at least in the US) Warpcast is powerful because it puts all of the channels in one place, that’s a good thing

i agree, but think there is room for both i.e. i’d like to see espn integrate the fc social graph and have commentary based on that in specific niche channels believe that is way to onboarding billions to fc sooner - versus doing so only through bringing them onto a social super app like warpcast

Yes, in that case I would consider than the ESPN app (a sports app) that is Farcaster-integrated rather than a "channel app" (channel is the main thing) I do think more FC-integrated apps will be a great thing although there's not a super clear case yet for why ESPN would choose to use FC over building their own

i think it could make sense to have channels in the espn app itself for each team, each event, etc key being as the network scales far past where it’s at today, obv espn would need to have incentive, but let’s say fc does get to 50-100m users, a custom social graph as a service where the social graph isn’t controlled by a different company could make a lot of sense to them, instead of trying to create their own - niche channels just the next step in that assuming they’re still at core of the network (big assumption) long ways down the road, but potentially the last leg 🌱
