A spectre is haunting the purple app. I feel many mistake a left political leaning = wanting a nanny state. I don't think that is the case and I'd love to see some more nuanced discussions around it. Personally, I probably fall more to the left, but I certainly don't dismiss the necessity of freedom of the individual and markets as mechanisms to govern certain outcomes.

This guys sets up a nice straw man for himself to knock down. All of this comes from the obsession of US-based folk to classify everything as either « left » or « right ». And probably a little engagement-baiting to boot.

It’s difficult because the central point bakes a TON of assumptions into it. Are there “so many” leftists in crypto? How many is so many? Are they over represented vs population? I don’t know. Assuming you mean more than 0 because you think crypto is a right-leaning technology, but can a technology really have a political slant? You might say “because outcomes will be more right” but if I take a bunch of guns to redistribute wealth, then I used a “right tech” to make a “left outcome”. Personally I think ascribing a political affiliation to a technology silly. Finally - what is “left” and “left outcome”. You have left this as n exercise for the reader but there are some “left outcomes” that an individual “leftist” might not want to happen. Neatly fitting everything into two boxes might work for a short post, but it doesn’t work for a nuanced discussion. Assuming that’s what you want, you could mention some of those outcomes in your question.
