POAP is just an idea. 

Any NFT can be a POAP. It's just proof of attendance. 

Functionally the one of the main benefit to POAP is that it doesn't require a wallet to onboard people.

But I can make a POAP style NFT with for example Zora Creatorkit and use it in the same way as a POAP.

How did you communicate the benefit of claiming it and what setup did you use? 

I've seen lots of different poapp distribution methods. For example QR codes or airdrop by email.

It’s a potentially great onboarding tool. Personal experience has still been tough. Given a couple of talks to MA fashion marketing students and of the 70ish attendees not one claimed the POAP I set them up. Blew my mind that they’d be so disinterested about learning.
