hi i have a question. if something is triggering you again and again and again, like it’s the same situation repeatedly and you find yourself reacting badly to it even though you don’t want to, are you supposed to remove the trigger from your life or keep trying to find ways to get over it? yes, i realize this is really vague, but maybe it will resonate with someone who has an answer

agree with everyone's take here, even though they're all different! one thing that hasn't been said (idt) is: if the trigger is causing you so much anxiety that you can't get in a stable headspace to actually process the underlying emotions causing the trigger, you gotta remove it to allow yourself some time to breathe and find a grounding thought/object/place before you try to tackle exposing yourself to the trigger again

that's true! i need to be better about removing myself from the situation. sometimes it's not possible, though. i am trying to be better at tackling problems once my emotions have cooled down. thank you erica<3 500 $degen
