i think it's fair to say that actually! it's honest imo - a lot of people don't know their dating goals as it differs from person to person. 

last time i met someone off a dating app, i had put "something casual", met someone who also had that, and then we fell in love lol

yeah and that's totally your prerogative to swipe left on someone who doesn't match your vibe!  

i mean that what my goals are with someone are dependent on who they are - i can have a great time with someone but we have a fundamental incompatibility, i'll want something casual with them but won't build towards something serious. i can also meet someone i have an equally great time with *and* we're compatible at our core. with that person i'd want there to be a possibility of something long-term. i'd be willing to put in more or less effort on working through issues depending on our compatibility, etc.

the core thing is just respect. always respect each other and be honest.

i agree that it’s honest, and i’ve swiped left on anyone who had that bc it doesn’t align with what i’m looking for. my annoyance was only about the part that if you don’t know..figure it out and come back when you know what it is 😭(not directed at u) maybe i cant fathom that it’s even an option because it’s sooo vague and it would make me anxious to be on the other end.

when you say different person to person, do you mean their intent would change depending on who they are talking to? sorry i didn’t fully understand that part.
