many web3 digital artists have ditched @warpcast and are now focusing exclusively on x. you might think, "so what?" but this actually matters. these artists already get the tech and are deep in crypto culture. yet, they don’t care enough about farcaster to connect with their audience here. the dev/builder-heavy culture on farcaster might be cool if you’re into that niche, but it’s still just that—a niche. and i get that you might not like hearing this, but it’s the truth. for artists who just want to share their work, it’s exhausting. the best product managers i’ve worked with as a designer focus on bridging the gap between tech and consumers, leaning toward the consumer side. it feels like the farcaster builder ecosystem is resisting that approach, stuck in the dev mindset. maybe it’s because those deep in engineering often lack the consumer vision.

probably true but there’s little collectors on Warpcast too … and also fc has currently 35k DAU and is declining, so it’s a total niche for artists (and non-artists lol), I can’t blame them you could even better promote on Mastodon with steady almost 1 million DAU haha little collectors also ;) https://dune.com/pixelhack/farcaster https://mastodon-analytics.com/

i disagree that there aren't collectors on WC. there are clearly collectors here. but they're builder-collectors. not necessarily art collectors. what i mean by that is that they seem to be primarily interested in collecting cool things they think are cool because the tech it's built with is cool. that's not the audience for a primarily visual artist who doesn't build apps. but an artist like @jake has found an audience here.

no for sure there are collectors here anyway have been trying hard to get artists in and get the art vibes going here, sometimes it’s fire (degen times) but lately looking a bit grim but hell yes would love to see art artists and collectors thriving here instead of on X , fc is such a great place and technically much more able.

yup.. but being better doesn't guarantee adoption. i.e. the Betamax effect. and i think we're seeing that happening in real time.
