Tell me why I'm wrong: Ethereum L1 or L2 gas fees make micropayments too expensive for everyday consumer apps. Less frequent payments? Sure. But 10x a day? No.

i’ll say it’s less about what manner of blockchain in use and more about the ledger ruleset and cost models at play that ensure certain access and spam controls. for example, a system can eliminate all micro-transaction costs for a select set of known and assumed honest users, regardless the number of users. 1/x

another example is a system that significantly lowers its transaction costs to better enable micro-transactions. ideally, such cost reductions will still have to be: - sustainable for consensus operators - prohibitive for spamming activities 2/x
