Are there any ideologically driven people involved in Solana? My impression is it’s pure mercenary: decentralization and open source are not taken seriously.

Decentralisation: So far, the Solana ledger is resistant to censorship and tampering from adversaries.

OS: The Solana protocol evidently embraces an Open Source methodology, resulting in at least two different implementations.

The ends for each of those means are being well achieved on Solana.
