Thumbs Up
@thumbsup.eth
Not nonsense at all. They already have DNS verification which makes them smarter than Warpcast from an institutional perspective. This move, as they outline themselves, helps organizations verify their own members. The checks show exactly who the verifier is and longer term anyone will be able to submit attestation. The combination of DNS verification for orgs and org verification for employees is pretty much a flawless execution of limited trust and transparency.

assolutamente. @thumbsup.eth is completely on target on the dns verification bit our snark was more in regards to the bsky team rolling out verification through a sort of blessing process. on that issue the technique merkle is employing feels superior

hah! yes, interesting point. on the spectrum of decentralized to centralized, where “sufficiently” decentralized falls somewhere in the middle, how would you rank and then contrast the two approaches?

we wouldn't. the paths each group are taking to deliver on that goal are different enough that it doesn't feel like a useful comparison where there are a lot of things to learn is at the level of ux. how the bsky crew have sought to improve the experience is much more interesting
