Do you make them with activated charcoal? Activated charcoal helps prevent mold and other nasty stuff from appearing. I just use a bit in the first layers, though some people use it as the entire base layer.

I water them once and don’t touch them for a year—just trimming the leaves that touch the glass.

how do you know how much to water these? i always overwater and then they get waterlogged and moldy
