Stripped the persimmon tree with @christinโs help today. Gave her a few bags but we still have a ton of fruit! Iโll be posting in /yeschef with some persimmon culinary creations!

Persimmon dishes! I'm looking forward to it.๐ I've only ever eaten them raw or in a salad.

I eat 90% of them raw but my wife bakes with them and I can make some favorite dishes with them too.

By the way, do you make dried persimmons? In Japan, it is customary to dry persimmons and eat them as a preserved food. The sweetness is concentrated and they are very delicious.

Iโve had dried persimmons, if we have extras we might dry some but I prefer them fresh.

I agree! I love fresh persimmons 100%! In Japan, there are a lot of astringent persimmons, so maybe they are made into dried persimmons!๐

Yes, probably. I prefer and have Fuyu persimmons. Hachiya are either astringent or very sweet!
