The state of free speech in the UK today. Police visit a lady for posting on Facebook that a local politician should resign. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14424959/Knock-knock-Thought-Police-thousands-criminals-uninvestigated-detectives-call-grandmother-crime-went-Facebook-criticise-Labour-councillors-centre-Hope-Die-WhatsApp-scandal-exposed-MoS.html

This story seems to be - She posts stuff on FB, not clear what - Councillor makes a harassment allegation - Police go and tell her about the allegation, hear her side, conclude there's no crime and go away - Councillor gets suspended from his party Not clear to me the police were wrong to talk to her?

The police could have decided there was no harassment there and told the complainant no action was needed. As far as we know she only called for the counselor's resignation on some Facebook groups. Instead the police in a way allowed themselves to be turned into a tool of intimidation by physically turning up to her doorstep when, as they themselves admit, "no crime was committed".
