i think we could argue this forever and still not have a solid answer. same goes for almost every financial asset. buying nvidia stock is a financial investment, and meme coins and nfts have charts too, so you can see them as investments. i've collected thousands of nfts over the years. why? i liked them and never tried to sell. sometimes you buy just to have it. that's collecting. now that nfts have charts, i don’t think they’re any less of a collectible. you just buy x amount of eth of an nft instead of x amount of nft. plus, you have liquidity when you want to sell. idk, would love to hear opinions on why to buy or not buy.

While i agree that we can go back and forth on this forever, the key difference is in the nature of what you’re collecting or investing in. Buying nvidia stock, or even meme coins and nfts that come with real artistic value, is fundamentally different from buying something like a tokenized image of a few bottles of … . You can’t equate the value of a truly meaningful nft, created by an artist with intention and thought, to a picture that doesn’t offer any depth or cultural context. Nft s with real artistic or cultural value transcend the financial charts, they are pieces of history, personal expression, and creativity. It’s not just about liquidity or the ability to resell, it’s about what you’re owning. A collectible nft can be a statement of taste, an appreciation for the artist, or an exploration of a new medium, not just a speculative asset.

And you’re right, sometimes you collect just for the sake of having something you enjoy. But in this space, it’s critical to understand the difference between supporting real art and getting swept up in the hype around quick profits. I believe that distinction is what will separate the lasting value from the transient trends. So before you buy, really reflect on the kind of value you’re after, is it just the price tag, or is it the meaning behind the work? Because in the end, it’s not about the chart, it’s about the story. I respect u and ur choice 🫡
