I really want to know do folks think about the audience before they build the product or after ? And if so how do you go about getting that audience because there is a disconnect somewhere

Sometimes I listen to people and then ask about their friction points. ask them things like "if you had a magic wand.. what would you wish for?" and then i see check other groups/friends/strangers their thoughts on it... if it seems from my gut that it's something that should exist and i'm excited about it... then i build it. if any of those things don't align -- then it's not for me.

That makes sense I’m afraid some folks have the tools to build and are just building to build which is cool but it can also be much more difficult to include pmf after..

I could see how that can happen. Have an idea. think it's great. maybe ask a family member who goes "oh wow yeah!" and then run to make it. I think following your passion is always good -- but sometimes to make something that lasts or something for the world -- you have to vet it through that world... prototype on paper... vet again.. etc. I'm looking at it through a lens of "apps" or tech-solutions though. I do think that asking yourself "Is this something that needs to exist in our world" can be simple enough at times too.
