One of the most important books I’ve ever read is ‘The World of Yesterday’ by Stefan Zweig He was born into an empire that crumbled before his eyes. It is a sober reminder that human institutions, however permanent they may seem to us, are susceptible to the disease of ideology and violence.

I had high expectations for this book but did not manage to finish. Sad that his life ended in a tragedy.
