I'm really proud that ethereum does not have any culture of trying to prevent people from speaking their minds, even when they have very negative feelings toward major things in the protocol or ecosystem.

Some wave the ideal of "open discourse" as a flag, some take it seriously.

Having participated in dozens of (non-crypto) communities, my personal opinion is ethereum is about average, though definitely a lot better than other crypto. The area with a very large scope for improvement, is in "open discourse" of subjective matters.

Also worth adding that the tech people are probably more tolerable of open discourse than the finance people. Perhaps that comes from having to be intellectually honest/humble if you're building things (reality teaches humility?). This is based off my experience on CT, where most of the finance people are.
