Two of my former colleagues from HuffPost who also took buyouts last month launched a new Substack-based news outlet called Public Domain, all focused on public lands reporting. It's seriously excellent and, if this is an area of interest for you, I absolutely recommend subscribing.

I wouldn't say fan. Pragmatic adopter for the time being.

I'm all in as in it's my main current social, and I have a newsletter there I'm pretty invested in. But no particular loyalty to the platform, and slowly growing distrust of the team (worrying signs of dark patterns in the design and a bit too much pious posturing around media futures and free speech of the sort that makes me suspicious). If things start to go south, I'll move my newsletter and quit the network no problem.
