I wouldn’t say it’s owning your data but it’s not controlled by a central entity and you have credible exit / interop as well as hashes to prove you were the author of the data

still a step up from web2 but not the final form of true data sovereignty

we have a long way to go and sometimes people like throwing those buzzwords out instead of focusing on the solutions that will get us there 🤷‍♂️
