what's the best web3 database/storage service rn? and would using a service like this require me running my own node(hosting an instance of a db, running a node in a network to pin my data, etc) genuinely curious if anyone has a best answer, i don't really have one

i'm also a big fan of local-first software so it'd be interesting to think about some storage system that uses .md files or another file format to be local-first, but if this can all be done in one system that hopefully doesn't require a ton of architectural setup that would be ideal

are you just looking to support eth / need any access control restrictions like token gating or moderation permissions?

I still haven’t found anything better than json blobs on IPFS. Heard some folks using Ceramic and ComposeDB. Tableland is neat but not sure how decentralized it is.

Sooo we are filling that void with fileverse.io specifically for consumer facing needs. Right now default storage happens on IPFS (your own end to end encryption keys)and pinning via web3storage but local storage and arweave are gonna be available as well. Local storage will still use IPFS for content addressing...
